Shaw Foundation's visit

(2003/01/23) Chinese Delegates and Shaw Foundation visited La Salle College

The Shaw Foundation returned to La Salle College with delegates from China after an absence of 5 years.
In this annual event, about 200M is donated to universities, middle schools and primary schools in China. The Chinese counterparts have to match this donation dollar for dollar.
They visited Sir Run Run Shaw's residence, the new Shaw Studio, HKUST, and also La Salle College.

Through Powerpoint presentation, the Principal gave a concise but thorough description of the School.
Mr. Tong Wun Sing translated to Putonghua.
Mr. Du Xiaoming, leader of the Chinese delegates, thanked the Shaw Foundation and the School. Talked briefly about the education development in China and welcomed all to visit their institutes.
Visit School Hall. Form 1 and 2 students just finished Mathematics, Mid-year Examination.
Bro. Thomas invited the visitors to talk to the boys as they should know Putonghua through learning the language in class.
Students and teachers sang the school song.

(2003/01/21) Shaw Foundation's Lunch Reception
Sir Run Run Shaw invited 65 education institutions from China to receive funding from the Shaw Foundation. The photographs showed Prof. Ma Lin introducing Bro. Thomas to the gathering. Mr. Yik, Mr. Chiu and Mr. Chung also attended the lunch reception.
