(2002/09/11) In the first Mass for the school year, the Principal asked God's blessing and protection on all staff and students for this academic year. He informed the gathering the passing away of two La Salle Brothers, Bro. Francis O'Rourke and Bro. Patricius O'Donovan.
The Eucharistic Celebration for Bro. Patricius O'Donovan, 1911-2002, was held in St. Joseph's Home for the Aged on 11th September 2002.
During the mass, Peter Leung (7C), vice president of KATSO, said the following:
Let us pray for Rev. Brother Francis who passed away on Monday, 9th September.
Brother Francis was the Principal of our school from 1990 - 1998. He was a quick and decisive person. He was an honest person, and was always true to his feelings. Despite his poor health, he made every effort to attend all school functions and to meet with the parents. Now, let us remain silent for a few minutes in memory of him.
May Bro. Francis rest in peace together with God and our patron, St. John Baptist de La Salle.
Towards the end of the Mass, the School Chaplain, Fr. Jose Angel, blessed the new KATSO committee members.
