(2003/11/06) Bro. Thomas was invited as a guest speaker to the Morning Assembly at DBS.
It began at 9:30 am. All the students gathered in the Hall except for Form 1. They had to attend another school activity.
The assembly began with reading from the Bible.
Bro. Thomas talked on brotherhood. La Salle College is a big family and everyone is a brother to another. Much is the same at DBS.
He told them a story that happened in the Wanchai Athletic meet. In a C grade track event, two boys, one from LSC and the other DBS, had exactly the same time for 8th place. A re-run between the two was scheduled after all the morning events to decide the last place in the final. About 40 DBS boys stayed behind at the stand to watch the race. The boy lost and his head was down. The boys from the stand came down to the field, surrounded him, supported him and tried to cheer him up. "This is what brotherhood is all about."
Then there was the presentation of prizes won in the Inter-school Life Saving Competition.
The Morning Assembly ended with announcement of activities by the students.
