- Talk on Cultural Awareness and Sensitivity
- Mr. Peter Ball together with students showed the audience the 6 cultural difference between East and West.
- 1st difference: Personal Space
- 2nd difference: Talk about money
- 3rd difference: Question about age
- 4th difference: Politness, e.g. holding the door open for others to come through.
- 5th difference: The Magic Words: Please and Thank you.
- 6th difference: Shake hands firmly, when you meet friends.
- Mr. Ball asked the students to remember the following
- There is no right or wrong. There are only differences between the cultures
- Learn to enjoy the differences
- Keep learning English well and understand the western way of thinking more.
- Principal's announcement
- Bro. Thomas followed up and talked about the differences between cultures, the magic words and money. He told the students the importance to be honest about money.
- He asked the students who took part in the interschool swimming competition and the winners of the inter-class cross country to stand and receive applause from the gathering.
